Cassie, the dragons, Emmy and Max have been playing an ill-advised ball game in a grove of trees. Cassie didn’t want to play there becuas they could lose ball. It does indeed get lost, in the belly of a beast called a Dragonocerous. Pretty soon, everyone else except Cassie is stuck inside too. She has a great idea for getting them out, but finds herself giving in to trying everyone else’s solutions for the problem.

Max ruins the wagon of a group of a tiny nodlings and incurs the wrath of the Giant of Nod. He wants Max to set the situation right and together with Emmy and our dragon friends, he works to do just that.
